Our Story

Tim n Jody.jpeg

It all started in June of 2000 when we went on a short term mission trip with our church to Belgium to minister to refugees and asylum seekers fleeing persecution and oppression. Our hearts were broken meeting people from around the world and hearing their stories. One year later we ended up selling our house, furniture, and cars and packing up our two small children to begin a new life serving the needs of refugees living in refugee camps in Europe. We assisted refugees and helped churches in Belgium and England start ESL programs. In 2008 we returned to the States to educate, mobilize, and train up churches to help in the resettlement of refugees being resettled to America. Over the next 7 years, we helped with the resettlement of over 800 refugees to Winston Salem, NC utilizing hundreds of volunteers from area churches.
In 2016, we partnered with World Relief, a refugee resettlement agency as they opened a new office in the Upstate of SC. We have a passion for assisting refugees and helping them become self-sufficient. We also have a desire to educate and mobilize the church to love the stranger by being the Hands and Feet of Jesus! We have seen hundreds of refugees become successful and productive citizens, not just surviving but thriving in their new home. In 2020, we relocated from Greenville, SC to Clemson, SC and are excited about the opportunity to train up more churches as we begin to welcome refugees coming from Afghanistan.
